The Team

Behind the vision of Reaxys Inspiring Chemistry is a team of five dedicated scientists and information professionals.

David Evans, PhD
Scientific Affairs Director, RELX Intellectual Properties SA

David has led Reaxys Inspiring Chemistry efforts since the program’s inception in 2009. He has been with RELX Group in a variety of roles for over 15 years, including journals and books publishing and software product management. He is also Board member and the current Chairman of the InChI Trust, a charitable organization founded to support the development of the InChI – the international chemical identifier. David has a BSc and PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bath, in the UK.

Anna Ferretti, PhD
Scientific Affairs Assistant, RELX Intellectual Properties SA

Anna started her career in academic research, working on the development of biosensors for clinical application, topic on which she got her PhD in Biotechnology and Bioengineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. She then focused on intellectual property creation and valorisation at the Technology Transfer Office of EPFL, where she was working on prior art searches and patentability assessments, patent applications drafting and benchmarking of inventions with respect to existing technologies. She joined the Inspiring Chemistry team in 2016.

Pieder Caduff, PhD
Senior Manager Enabling Technologies & Innovation, RELX Intellectual Properties SA

Pieder develops innovative ways to make scientific information accessible to scientist in diverse industries using ontology-based automated text analysis on mobile devices, in order to derive network-driven information dependencies. Understanding information needs and the value that such information can bring to scientists in cross-functional decision teams is one of his key focus areas. Pieder holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH Zurich), in Switzerland.

Thibault Géoui, PhD
Senior Marketing Director, Elsevier

Thibault has been working for over 10 years in life-sciences, first as an academic researcher in structural biology, then as a product manager in the biotech and medical device industry. Working at Elsevier, he has led product marketing initiatives resulting in major new product launches. Thibault has PhD in structural and NanoBiology from the Joseph Fourier University of Grenoble, in France and an MBA from the Julius-Maximilians-Universität of Würzburg, in Germany.

Juergen Swienty Busch, PhD
Director Product Management, Elsevier

Juergen and his team are responsible for the development of Reaxys and Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry at Elsevier. His career started at the Beilstein Institute in 1990, and includes experiences in the CrossFire system, combinatorial chemistry and synthesis machines bioinformatics and cheminformatics. He has a long history in marketing as well as product design. Juergen is a chemist with a PhD from University Hamburg, in Germany
